You are going to learn how to start an AliExpress Dropshipping business. The Dropshipper’s guide to AliExpress Sourcing states that if you want to start an eCommerce company, Dropshipping is an excellent way to get your product moving without having to fuss about inventory or shipping.
You can quickly achieve this by listing your product on your website and sending the orders to your supplier as they arrive.
Dropshipping is an excellent way to start an eCommerce business from the ground up, but locating suppliers that can support you in the long run can prove challenging.
With Zendrop, however, you can source millions of the products available on AliExpress.
What exactly is AliExpress Dropshipping, and how does it work?
AliExpress has well over a hundred million products, each with its own definition and pricing. Established in 2010, it is owned by the Chinese conglomerate Alibaba, the world’s largest online retailer.
AliExpress dropshipping
Trending products are primarily manufactured in China by Chinese companies and can be purchased for less.
Women’s and jewelry, electronics, and home products are available on AliExpress. If you want to sell them online, you can also find them here.
Is Dropshipping possible on AliExpress?
Exactly! How easy it was to integrate AliExpress into my eCommerce platform astounded me.
To begin dropshipping, check for AliExpress products in Oberlo and add them to your store with a few simple clicks.
Here’s how it works:
- You add products from AliExpress.
- You set a profit margin (mark-up price).
- You pay the wholesale price for the product upon receiving an order
- AliExpress seller then delivers the order directly to the customer
AliExpress for your online store
Few AliExpress stores choose to purchase the products themselves, but most dropshipper resellers use AliExpress as an online retailer.
AliExpress shipping is easy but not inexpensive. It’s free, so you can try out a product without making a financial commitment.
You can use several pre-existing images from the AliExpress marketplace as stock photos for your store, but each listing includes your products’ descriptive photos. A traditionally oriented approach would concentrate on differentiating the product by positioning.
When offering a service, investing in photos and descriptions is essential.
Finally, AliExpress Dropshipping is as easy as getting your customer’s address after receiving the product.
Below, we will discuss some product and seller characteristics you must look for to succeed in more depth.
It is no more complicated than what I just said. Selling on AliExpress as a Dropshipper is an excellent way to set up your eCommerce; once you have everything in place, start doing it.
Excellent customer service is essential for customers to buy from your store, but it does not have to be amazing to sell the same merchandise on AliExpress.
Your product price or novelty will not give you a competitive advantage. Your strategic advantage will be in marketing, customer service, and logistics—in other words, reaching and serving your customers faster and better than the competition.
According to the concept given above, successful marketing is a competitive advantage in and of itself. Since you must assist customers in locating, evaluating, and purchasing your product, you must also generate revenue. Whereas marketing the brand often entails choosing a domain name, creating valuable and enjoyable content is essential.
Finally, but certainly not least, in terms of the value of quality, protection, trust, and understanding of your customers, if your rivals don’t treat customers well or have negative shopping experiences, the best way to assist your customers is to help them resolve their issues, even if they are in your store, and promptly respond to their inquiries.
Can you sell AliExpress products by dropshipping via an Amazon fulfillment center?
Technically, you can ship products on Amazon with AliExpress, but you want to use something other than this form of fulfillment. And here’s the problem when selling AliExpress Dropshipping products on Amazon.
Amazon’s policy requires suppliers to follow Amazon’s dropship seller policy so that they align their suppliers to meet Amazon’s requirements.
However, if you’re curious, you should give it a shot by attempting the following.
- Look for a dropshipping supplier that allows you to order products from AliExpress. Browse the Shopify app store.
- Contact the source of the product you wish to sell to ensure they satisfy Amazon’s Dropshipping policy criteria for excluding any details identifying a third party.
- Create a Shopify store and link it to the AliExpress app.
- To your Shopify store, add products.
- Configure the Amazon Sales Channel for your store.
- From the Shopify admin, you can create and manage Amazon listings.
Getting your AliExpress Dropshipping store running
Now that we’ve learned about AliExpress, how it helps you source Dropshipping products, and the importance of setting up your store, let’s get started.
What AliExpress Dropshipping products would you source from AliExpress?
The first step in launching an eCommerce store is determining which products are in high demand and entering them via a niche market.
Lack of consumer awareness should not be a concern because the AliExpress Product Finder will help you discover new business concepts and research new products.
Let’s begin by listing the categories you are familiar with and then narrowing your attention to what you understand.
AliExpress Categories
The next step is to choose a few things to sell in your shop. Since I’m looking for jogging shoes, this shop focuses on fitness products, my store niche.
AliExpress sells products in many categories, from simple clothing to sophisticated electronics, at prices ranging from one to thousands of dollars.
This can be challenging and cause headaches if you do not use a reliable supplier of high-quality products.
I’ve compiled a list of factors to consider when reviewing a product. There’s no rocket science to the criteria, and so far, it has proved effective. Here are several conditions to consider before procuring an AliExpress product for Dropshipping:
Shipping is free via ePacket. Concentrate on reselling products that provide free ePacket delivery everywhere possible. Since a vast majority of products on AliExpress are manufactured in China or Hong Kong, ePacket delivery is the most cost-effective and one of the quickest means of shipping small products to the United States.
It’s worth mentioning that, even if a seller charges for ePacket delivery, I’d instead do business with one who does. It is the most cost-effective and reliable way of shipping products from China to the Americas and Europe.
A more than 4.5 stars rating: Furthermore, I want to be sure that the products I want to resell have a high-quality rating (at least 4.5 stars) and that the seller has a high percentage of positive feedback. For a second opinion on product sellers, I use the AliExpress Seller Check Chrome extension.
I can get a more candid and neutral overview of a seller at a glance by using a third-party website. This has proved to be much more reliable than relying solely on AliExpress’s rating system.
Knockoffs: I’m not concerned with brands, fakes, or knockoffs. While trying not to sell any current products or counterfeits, I avoid any that I come across. Since you can’t enter into a contract unless you sign an agreement with the brand in question, even if the product is genuine, the risk of marketing it with someone else’s logo is not worth it.
Well, it might restrict your options in the end. Still, it will also save you a lot of time, so stick to product categories where an identifiable logo isn’t as vitally important, for instance, electronic accessories or clothes.
Low cost and a large profit margin: I tend to buy products in the $1– $20 price range, depending on the product I’m reselling. This gives me more wiggle room for marketing expenses to retain a customer, as these products will range in price from $20 to $50 or more. For example, I can buy running shoes on AliExpress for around $20 and sell them for $50, resulting in a profit margin of 60% before marketing costs.
There are many excellent product images. Due diligence should be performed to ensure that the photos are authentic and not stolen from any online retailer. A quick Google image search will show if the product photos come from a reputable brand and store or directly from the manufacturer.
More than 300 orders have been placed. A product with a high order volume shows a few things to me. To begin, the product must have a demand. Second, the number of orders shows that the provider is more dependable than the average since some are repeat transactions. I’ll sometimes start my quest for a new item to sell by sorting products by order total.
The seller is communicative and helpful. Before placing an order, do not hesitate to contact the seller. A trustworthy seller will promptly respond to all of your inquiries. If a seller does not respond to your messages, this is a huge red flag.
Adding products to your store
It’s time to start adding products to your Shopify store after you’ve developed it and decided on a product category and supplier.
This step must be thoroughly covered because it is not as simple as copying and pasting the images and description from an AliExpress listing onto your website.
You can sign up for 14 days free trial on Shopify (no credit card needed) Then start setting up your store.
Aside from that, there are a few things to think about if you want to make your store a success. Consider the following:
Customers should be informed of expected delivery times. It’s a good idea to note on the product page (or anywhere in your store) that, depending on the supplier, your customers can have to wait up to 20 days for their order to arrive. Since the majority of AliExpress suppliers are based in China, shipping times could be longer than usual.
Product rates should be fair. Consider selling the products at about twice their current price. Aiming for a 50% profit will justify running the business and covering necessary marketing and support expenses.
Make shipping free of charge. Competitive shipping rates can become one of your competitive advantages, which is why I highly encourage you to give free shipping to your customers by taking advantage of the free/low-cost shipping offered by many AliExpress sellers.
You create your product descriptions. Many of the product descriptions on AliExpress were not written by copywriters or to fully explain the products’ advantages.
Having your distinct content supports your business in the long run and helps you convert more visitors to customers on your product pages. Finally, if you write a unique copy for each page of your store, you can eliminate the risk that comes with duplicating content.
Make use of an order tracking app. You can receive emails from customers inquiring about their order’s status if you have longer delivery times than the average consumer is used to. Please use a Shopify App Store order tracking app to keep customers updated on their purchase status.
Oberlo makes it easy to add products to your store. Rather than manually add AliExpress products to your website, you can automate the process with Oberlo.
You can also use the Oberlo Chrome extension to add products from AliExpress to your store. This helps to automate sourcing new products as you look for products that your customers would love. Oberlo does all of the work; all you have to do is check and click.
Oberlo will help you find your first product. Oberlo allows thousands of people to find things to sell on Shopify.
With Oberlo, you’ll never have to worry about shipping, packing, or inventory management again—and you can get started for free.
Dropshipping on AliExpress
What do you do with your first order after you’ve packed your store with ready-to-sell and dropship products?
Dropshipping with AliExpress works just as it does with every other dropshipper. When you receive an order, go to Oberlo and purchase the item, Oberlo will import the customer’s details to Aliexpress, you just need to confirm details and product quantity then authorize the sale. The remaining tasks get managed by the seller on AliExpress.
If you opt to do this manually, keep a spreadsheet with a list of all the products on your site, the price you’re charging, the fee on AliExpress, and a link to the AliExpress listing.
When you get an order, you’ll have an easier time finding the supplier on AliExpress and keeping track of price changes.
You can also use Oberlo, which will handle the entire process on your behalf, making it easier to place orders on AliExpress and monitor price changes.
This approach is not only more accessible, but it also saves you a lot of time, which is your most valuable resource. It allows you to develop without manually ordering dozens (or even hundreds) of products from AliExpress.
How does it work? Installing the Oberlo app on your Shopify store, logging in to Oberlo, and check Order Product next to each pending order are all it takes.
Oberlo is in charge of everything else. It will buy the item from AliExpress on your behalf and enter your customer’s details.
Oberlo will also notify you when the price of an AliExpress supplier rises or runs out of stock and recommends alternative Dropshipping suppliers.
Oberlo will also serve as a dashboard for your AlliExpress Dropshipping company, allowing you to monitor all of your orders and the status of delivery.
When placing an order on AliExpress, you must remind the seller that you’re Dropshipping. This means that no invoices or discounts are included in the retailer’s package to the customer.
During the checkout process, you can leave a message for the seller. I recommend leaving a simple message like
“We’re Dropshippers.” Please, no ads or invoices! “When you place an AliExpress order, Oberlo will handle this for you.
In case your supplier locates in China and offers it, go for ePacket shipping. It’s available for free from several suppliers.
During the checkout process, Oberlo chooses ePacket delivery as the shipping method for all AliExpress orders.
You will then receive an email informing you that your order has shipped, depending on the seller’s shipping time processing.
Click the link in the email to see your order. You can see the order’s tracking number.
Next, you fulfill the order, and that you do through your Shopify admin. You can also have to enter the tracking number.
When you use Oberlo, the order will be fulfilled automatically, with a tracking number, and your customer will be informed that their order has shipped. If you use Oberlo, you can skip the proceeding stage above.
And that concludes our discussion in this section on Dropshipping on AliExpress. The only thing left to do now is waiting for your customers to receive their orders.
AliExpress will send you an email to confirm the delivery of your order when it arrives. Allow time for the customer to reach if at all on issues attaching on shipping or defective products.
This way, you can connect directly with the supplier through AliExpress, pleading with them to correct the situation and hopefully resolve the problem for future orders.
Is it possible to get a refund or a new item?
Returns are not accepted by a large number of AliExpress and Alibaba Dropshipping sellers. You’ll have to deal with returns and refunds in various ways as a result of this.
When a customer places an order on your site, and there is an issue, it is either because the order was never delivered or because the customer is unhappy with their purchase.
You’ll need to contact your AliExpress supplier in the first case, which is an order that never arrives. Contact the supplier directly in this situation, or use AliExpress’ Buyer Protection.
When a consumer expresses dissatisfaction with a product, it’s almost always a case of expectation not being met. I suggest issuing a refund and deciding whether any changes to your marketing strategy are needed in response to their feedback.
In many cases, the customer may not have fully understood what they were ordering. Request that your customer take photos of the damaged product and send them to the AliExpress seller.
Expanding your Dropshipping business on AliExpress
It’s time to think about ways to develop your Dropshipping business and make more money after you’ve made a few sales.
You’ll eventually figure out which suppliers are trustworthy and high-quality and which ones aren’t. Establishing relationships with reliable suppliers is one of the best pieces of Dropshipping advice I can offer. You will take advantage of lower prices and faster order delivery as a result of this.
The majority of AliExpress suppliers use WeChat or WhatsApp, as I discovered. If you buy from the same seller regularly, it’s a good idea to ask for their Skype username so you can build a business relationship.
Some sellers will let you label products or provide custom invoices and branded inserts in shipping packages after you’ve demonstrated the ability to generate recurring revenue.
Using Oberlo for your Dropshipping business.
The best part about AliExpress Dropshipping is that it allows store owners to quickly test and validate business concepts and products.
Do you have any doubts about your ability to sell a product? Could you put it in your store and check it out? If the item does not work, you can uninstall it and try again.
There is little risk involved with setting this all up because you will not be bringing or handling any inventory, and there will be no upfront costs. Oberlo is also free to use, as I previously said.
